About Developer Tools
Every maker ends up building a tool to fix their own annoyance. This is the shelf where those tools land. Developer Tools collects the products that help you write, test, deploy and keep software running, made by solo builders and small teams who use the thing themselves before they ask anyone else to.
Browse the whole category or step into a subcategory: APIs and SDKs, testing, DevOps, and databases and backend. Open source projects now have their own category, Open Source. Each page lists the products in that subcategory, and the main category shows everything underneath it, with filters to narrow the pile. New launches sit at the top by default. Switch to community votes if you want to see what other builders rate. Votes can never be bought, so the order reflects what people actually picked up and tried.

Developer Tools: questions answered
- What belongs in Developer Tools?
- Anything that helps someone build, test, ship or run software: libraries, hosted services, command-line utilities, editors, dashboards and similar. If the main buyer is a developer doing developer work, it fits here. Tools for a general business audience usually sit in a different category.
- How do I choose between the subcategories?
- Pick the one that describes the job your product does first. A tool that mocks an endpoint for tests belongs in testing, not APIs. Every listing has one main category, included free, so choose the closest fit and let the description cover the rest.
- Can my product appear in more than one subcategory?
- Your main category is included free. If your tool genuinely spans several jobs, a paid upgrade adds up to 3 more categories for $5. Only add ones where a visitor would reasonably expect to find it.
- How do I get my tool listed here?
- Go to /submit and paste your website address. An AI drafts the profile from your site, then you check and edit every field before anything goes live. A paid launch costs $5; a free listing joins a queue of about 6-8 weeks.
- What should I check when comparing developer tools?
- Look at how quickly you can get a first result, what the docs show, how the tool fits your existing stack and what happens if you leave. Check whether the maker is still shipping updates. Open source tools also let you read the code before you commit.
