Dial down or silence notices
Every message we send has its own unsubscribe button at the bottom—one click and you're out of that type. For finer control, visit /account/notifications and toggle each notice type and its frequency.
Some messages never turn off: order confirmations, refund notices, payment alerts, listing freezes and anything touching your security.
Switch to a different sign-in email
Open /account/email, enter the new address and your password. We email your current address and the new one: press the button in both emails. When both are confirmed your sign-in email changes, other browsers are signed out and we confirm it to the old address. If you have lost access to your current inbox, send a request from /help and we check it is you.
Shut down your account or wipe your data
At /account/privacy there is a 'Close your account' option. It lists what will happen first, and asks for your sign-in email and password to confirm. The result: listings unpublished, personal data removed, signed out everywhere. It is final, and paid listings are not refunded (your statutory rights are not affected).
Before you go, take your records with you: /account/privacy lets you save a complete copy of your information, ready in seconds.
The law requires us to keep invoices for a set period, so those stay. /privacy sets out how we handle personal data.
Questions people ask
- Can I stop getting emails without closing my account?
- Yes. Each email type has an unsubscribe link, or use /account/notifications to pick which ones you want. Some—like payment alerts and security notices—can't be turned off.
- How do I close my account?
- At /account/privacy, 'Close your account' does it once you confirm with your sign-in email and password: listings unpublished, personal data removed, invoices kept as the law requires. There is no undo.
- What happens to my invoices after I close my account?
- Invoices stay on file as long as the law requires. Everything else—your account, profile and personal details—is removed.
