What it is

Screenshot of the ShardStitch homepage
shardstitch.com, as visitors see it

ShardStitch keeps AI coding workflows grounded in project state instead of chat history. It recovers failed sessions by reading what survived on disk—git state, changed files, commits, notes, and dependency structure—then separates verified facts from inferred claims. The recovery packet is formatted for the next AI tool, whether that's Claude, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, or another platform. ShardStitch works locally with zero telemetry, handles 31 AI handoff targets, and includes 49 MCP tools for direct in-session use. Built for the messy cases: dead sessions, rate limits, stale context, and cross-tool switches.

What it is built with

  • Session recovery across 31 AI coding tools including Claude, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, Cline, Devin, Windsurf, and more
  • Git-aware state tracking with branch, diff, changed files, and recent commits
  • Dependency graph showing file relationships and god-node detection
  • 49 MCP tools callable directly from Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, and Windsurf
  • Session Vault for local recovery history after crashes and outages
  • Zero telemetry with local recovery and optional explicit exports only
  • Hivy on-device intelligence for context trimming and drift detection
  • Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop apps with CLI and VS Code/Cursor extension
  • Council 12-agent review layer for risky handoffs to surface stale assumptions

Questions from the bench

Does ShardStitch need the old AI session alive?
No. ShardStitch reads the project state that survived on disk, including git state, changed files, recent commits, local session files, notes, dependency structure, and project memory.
Does my code leave my machine?
Normal recovery is local with no telemetry or cloud sync. License validation goes to Polar without sending code or conversation content. Optional chat-share import and user-configured cloud LLM use the network only when explicitly enabled.
Which AI coding tools are supported?
ShardStitch supports 31 AI handoff targets across native pickup-file or MCP paths plus web-chat handoff, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Aider, Cline, Roo Code, Gemini CLI, Kiro, OpenCode, Devin and Windsurf, plus clean clipboard handoff for web chats such as ChatGPT, Claude.ai, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity, Z.ai, Replit, Lovable, and Kimi.
Is ShardStitch a subscription?
No. ShardStitch is $49 as a one-time lifetime license, with no subscription or recurring fees.
Why not just use Claude /compact, plan.md, or resume from summary?
Those are good Claude-native workflows when you catch the problem early and want to stay inside Claude. ShardStitch handles the rougher cases: you forgot to compact, the summary missed repo state, notes drifted, usage is already blocked, or you want to continue in Cursor, Codex, Gemini, or another tool. Claude can resume a conversation; ShardStitch builds a verified continuation packet from local project state.
