What it is

Repowise is an open-source codebase intelligence platform that analyzes source structure, dependencies, call relationships, git history, ownership, code-health signals, tests and engineering decisions. It creates one living index per repository, kept current on every commit, that agents query over MCP, pull requests are checked against, and changes are recorded in. The platform serves this index to coding agents, pull request bots, VS Code extensions and team dashboards, without requiring users to switch tools. The core engine is open source under AGPL-3.0 and runs locally, while a hosted SaaS version includes auto-indexing on every push, MCP integration with Claude.ai and ChatGPT, PR bot commenting, security scanning and a shareable dashboard.

What it is built with

  • Code health scoring with defect prediction
  • Blast radius and change impact detection
  • Auto-generated documentation rebuilt on every commit
  • Git intelligence: hotspots, owners and coupling detection
  • Architecture and decision tracking
  • MCP tools for Claude Code and Cursor
  • PR bot with change review and test detection
  • Security scanning: CVEs, secrets and reachability
  • Dead code detection and unused exports
  • Change Records with policy enforcement

Questions from the bench

What does Repowise index?
Repowise analyzes source structure, dependencies, call relationships, git history, ownership, code-health signals, tests and engineering decisions, turning that evidence into one codebase model that agents query over MCP, pull requests are checked against, and every merged change is recorded in.
What do I get when I sign in?
Free accounts index up to 2 public repositories and include 10 grounded answers a month. Pro ($15/month) adds private repositories and auto-sync on every push. Teams ($20/seat/month, 3-seat minimum) shares them across a team.
What does hosted add over the open-source CLI?
Hosted re-indexes on every push, lets Claude.ai and ChatGPT reach your index over MCP, comments on pull requests, scans for secrets and new vulnerabilities, gives the team one shareable link, and includes models and credits so nobody manages an API key.
Can I run it myself or inside my organization?
Yes. The core engine is open source under AGPL-3.0 and runs locally. For organizations, the commercial edition runs self-hosted in your VPC or air-gapped, with Change Records, change policy and cross-repository views, licensed per seat, per repository or enterprise-wide.
Can I browse without signing in?
Yes. You can open and browse supported public repositories without an account or installation.
