Mornio

What it is

Mornio is an iPhone alarm app designed for people who turn off their alarm in their sleep and fall back asleep without remembering. To stop the alarm, you must get out of bed and scan a QR code or barcode you have registered in advance, placed in another room like a bathroom or kitchen. After scanning, the app includes a stay-awake check that follows up a few minutes later, asking you to press and hold to confirm you are still awake. If you don't respond, the alarm restarts. The app requires no account, shows no ads, and keeps all data on your device. Three wake-ups are free to try; continued use requires Mornio Pro. It runs on iPhone with iOS 26.1 or later only.

Questions from the bench

How do you dismiss Mornio's alarm?

You must physically get up and scan a QR code or barcode you registered in advance and placed away from bed, such as in the bathroom or kitchen. Silencing the system alarm without scanning brings the alarm back.

Is Mornio available on Android?

No, and it is not planned. Mornio's alarm is built on Apple's AlarmKit, an iOS-only framework. There is no equivalent on Android.

Will the free wake-ups automatically charge my card after three uses?

No. The three free wake-ups are not a subscription trial and your card is not required. After those three, Mornio Pro is required to continue.

What iPhone iOS version does Mornio require?

Mornio requires iOS 26.1 or later. It uses Apple's AlarmKit exclusively and has no notification-based fallback, which could be suppressed by Focus modes.

Who makes Mornio?

An independent developer. There is no parent company, no venture funding and no advertising business behind it. Mornio is supported by its Pro subscription, priced at $7.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
