What it is

Mirafold™ transforms the terminal experience of coding agents by providing a full graphical interface while keeping the underlying agent unchanged. Install via npm or download the Linux desktop app, and your coding agent runs in a browser or desktop window with structured UI elements instead of plain text output. The interface includes diffs you can inspect, live task checklists, tables, charts, and pinned dashboards. Mission control displays all running sessions at a glance. Your API keys stay local in the daemon environment and never reach the browser. Mirafold™ is free and open source under the MIT license, with an optional Pro subscription that enables cross-device access through an end-to-end encrypted relay.

What it is built with

  • Structured UI for diffs, checklists, tables, charts, and diagrams
  • Mission control shows all sessions at a glance
  • Workspace changes view to review Git diffs
  • Cross-device Pro relay with end-to-end encryption
  • Support for local models via Ollama, LM Studio, or vLLM
  • Interactive PTY mode for sudo and ssh commands
  • Pinned widgets and generative UI in sandboxed iframes
  • Linux desktop app with .deb, AppImage, and .tar.gz packages
  • API key never serialized to browser
  • Full visibility of thinking, tool calls, tokens, and cost

Pricing

Free: $0, includes the full local product, all four agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode), full interface with generative UI and mission control across unlimited sessions. Pro: $12/mo or $99/yr, adds cross-device access with QR code pairing and end-to-end encrypted relay.

Questions from the bench

Is this a web UI for Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode?
Yes, Mirafold™ is a browser interface for the terminal coding agent you already use with the same engine, settings, memory, and permission rules. Install with npm i -g mirafold, run mirafold in a project directory, and your agent opens in the browser with structured UI including diffs, live task lists, tables, charts, and pinned dashboards instead of scrolling text.
Can I use Mirafold™ as a Linux desktop app?
Yes. Download Mirafold™ Desktop for Linux, pick a project folder, and the same Mirafold™ opens in its own window. Desktop includes its runtime so you do not need to install Node.js or npm. You still need a supported coding-agent login, provider API key, or local-model setup.
Does it work with local models?
Yes. A session is fully local when the agent points at a local inference server — Claude Code against Ollama's Anthropic-style endpoint, Codex against Ollama, LM Studio, or vLLM, or OpenCode through a local provider. Then nothing — code, key, or tokens — leaves your machine.
Where does my API key live?
Your API key lives in your local daemon's environment, exactly as in a terminal. It is never serialized to the browser, and on Pro the relay carries end-to-end-encrypted frames plus connection metadata, never your key or conversation.
Can I use it from my phone?
Yes, that is Pro: pair a phone, tablet, or any browser with a QR code, and the same session travels with you with the full interface and pinned widgets. The relay in between is end-to-end encrypted so it sees only ciphertext and connection metadata, never your key, code, or content.
