What it is

Cards+ is a private digital wallet for iPhone that securely stores IDs, cards, PDFs, and documents with local encryption and offline access. The app requires no user account or forced cloud synchronization, keeping all data on the device. It features one-time purchases without subscriptions, PIN and Face ID protection, and supports scanning and organizing documents with tags and folders. Cards+ includes features like expiry reminders for Pro users, Apple Watch integration, and Apple Wallet export for suitable cards.

Which ID cards and documents should I store in Cards+?

Store obvious ones like ID card, passport, driver's license, registration certificate, and health insurance card. Also useful for vaccination card, legal protection insurance, customer cards, boating licenses, drone insurance, and diving licenses.

Why use Cards+ instead of storing photos in the Photos or Notes app?

Cards+ offers better organization than Photos or Notes, and prevents other apps with photo library access from seeing your ID cards. It also notifies you about upcoming expiry dates, which Photos and Notes do not.

Can I record ID cards in landscape format and rotate or edit them?

Yes, this is a standard feature of the iOS scanner component. After taking the photo, tap on the small image at the bottom left to open the editing function.

How do I keep order in Cards+, how do I keep everything organized?

You can give each card a title, which is displayed in the expanded stack and sorted according to it. You can also assign any number of tags to each card, e.g. 'ID', 'Sport', 'Insurance' and tags for the names of your family members. You can also use the filter to easily find your daughter's school ID card, for example. And by creating folders you can group your cards, by using smart folders the grouping happens automatically.
