What it is

Screenshot of the Canary homepage
runcanary.ai, as visitors see it

Canary is an enterprise-grade AI testing platform that automatically tests code generated by AI agents. It runs your application in clean sandboxes, systematically attempts to break every change, and reports failures with reproduced evidence and root causes. The platform integrates with coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, testing at every step of the development cycle—from uncommitted work through pull requests—and automatically re-tests fixes until they hold. Findings arrive as regression tests that run on every subsequent pull request.

Canary integrates with GitHub, Linear, Slack, Sentry, Datadog, and Notion. It processes customer data transiently in ephemeral sandboxes and does not use code to train or fine-tune machine learning models.

What it is built with

  • Automatic test generation from code diffs
  • Sandbox app testing with real browsers and APIs
  • Reproduced failures with root causes
  • Automatic regression test creation
  • GitHub PR integration with inline comments
  • Testing at every development step
  • Support for multiple coding agents
  • Slack and Linear integration
  • Comprehensive test reports with evidence
  • CLI for local testing before commits

Questions from the bench

What is Canary designed to do?
Canary is an independent tester for code written by AI agents. It runs your app, tries to break every change, and reports what would have reached production before it does, catching bugs autonomously.
How does Canary integrate with my workflow?
Canary integrates with coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. You paste a prompt into your agent, connect your stack, and Canary begins testing on every pull request. It also integrates with GitHub, Linear, Slack, Sentry, Datadog, and Notion.
What happens to my source code?
Source code is processed transiently in ephemeral sandboxes that are destroyed at the end of each run. Canary does not use your code to train or fine-tune any machine learning models.
How long does it take to get started?
You can get started in under 2 minutes. Install the Canary CLI with npm, run the onboarding command, and begin testing.
What does Canary do when it finds a bug?
Every failure is returned reproduced with a replay showing how it breaks, a one-line root cause, and a suggested fix. Canary keeps the test as a regression that reruns on every subsequent pull request.
