AQ is a multiplayer platform for engineering teams to work with AI coding agents. Teams can chat with agents about their code and data to get answers with tables, charts and pages; build with any coding agent in isolated git worktrees with live previews, pull requests and review; and run standing bots that wake on a schedule or event. All work happens on machines that are theirs—either AQ-managed sandboxes or infrastructure in their own cloud. Agents can be Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Kimi Code, Grok, Antigravity, Devin, Muse Code, OpenCode, Command Code, Pi or AQ's built-in agent, each signed in with the team's own subscriptions, which stay unmetered. The platform includes features like crews with independent review, live multiplayer sessions where teammates share terminals and previews, integrations with Linear, GitHub, Slack and more, memory shared across agents, and an API for driving AQ from other tools.

What it is built with

  • Chat with agents about code, data and tools with answers as tables, charts and pages
  • Isolated worktrees per task with live preview and pull request review
  • Standing bots that wake on schedule or event with monthly spend caps
  • Crews with independent agent review
  • Live multiplayer terminals and previews shared with the team
  • Support for 11 coding agents: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Kimi Code, Grok, Antigravity, Devin, Muse Code, OpenCode, Command Code and Pi
  • Integrations with Linear, GitHub, Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar, Granola, Sentry, Mercury, Vanta and Stripe
  • Memory shared across agents searchable by the whole team
  • API, webhooks and MCP server for automation and third-party tools

Questions from the bench

What is the difference between Chat, Build and Bots?
Chat has no branch of its own: it reads, runs queries and reports, and proposes code changes as work items. Build is a work item with a branch, an agent that edits, a live preview and a pull request. A bot is a chat with a standing job that wakes on a schedule or an event.
What is included in the Free plan?
A private, AQ-managed sandbox for one person with nothing to install and no seat charge. You can use your own agent subscriptions or use AQ's built-in agent at published per-token prices. The Pro plan adds teammates, sharing, AQ credits every month, and your choice of machines in your own cloud or a dedicated VM managed by AQ.
Do I need my own Claude or OpenAI subscription?
No. AQ's built-in agent works the moment you sign in, on AQ models, with credits included in every Pro seat. Connect your own Claude, OpenAI or Cursor subscription when you want your agents to run on it instead; AQ never marks that usage up.
Where does my code run?
On the Free plan, on a private AQ-managed VM dedicated to you. On the Pro plan, on machines you connect from your own cloud account or on a dedicated AQ-managed VM. Your checkout, worktrees, shell sessions and agent credentials stay on that machine; AQ does not use shared multi-tenant execution infrastructure.
What counts as a seat on the Pro plan?
A person who signs into AQ: engineers running agents, and PMs or designers who join workspaces, comment on previews, and steer work. If they log in, they are a seat.
