What it is

todowing.com, as visitors see it

Todowing is a Chrome extension that enhances Todoist by displaying sub-task trees nested inline where Todoist flattens them, showing full detail on every row with due dates, priorities and labels. It includes a focus timer for tracking work sessions with time estimates, and lets you customize Todoist's appearance with seven color palettes, fifty Google Fonts, and adjustable text sizing. Additional features include the ability to file tasks under parents in other projects, a notes pad for non-task items, and integration with Apple Calendar in your Today view. The extension stores your API token locally in your browser and sends it only to Todoist's official API, with no analytics or tracking.

What it is built with

  • Nested sub-task trees displayed inline in Today, Upcoming, Filters, Labels and Boards views
  • Each sub-task row shows due date, priority and labels

Questions from the bench

Is this a subscription?
No. You pay $19.99 once and get a license key that unlocks the extension forever with nothing to renew or cancel.
What does the free tier include?
Every nesting feature with full row detail limited to 5 sub-task rows per task, plus seven palettes and text-size slider. The unlock removes the limit and adds editing, focus sessions with time estimates, one task in two places, font picker, hide-done toggle, notes pad, and Apple Calendar.
Which views does Todowing work in?
Today, Upcoming, any Filter or Label view, and every board in Todoist. Project list views already nest on their own so Todowing leaves them alone.
Do I need Todoist Pro?
No. Todowing works with any Todoist plan in the Todoist web app on Chrome.
Does Todowing work in the Todoist desktop app?
Not the downloadable desktop app, since Chrome extensions cannot run inside it. You can install Todoist as its own Chrome window and use Todowing there.
