LangDrift is an agentic FinOps platform that keeps agent-assisted delivery inside a team budget through bounded microruntimes and financial controls.

What it is

langdrift.md, as visitors see it

LangDrift is an agentic FinOps platform that combines two core features: Microruntimes and FinOps. Microruntimes provide bounded execution environments composed around components you already have, with their configuration, execution and cleanup defined in the console and run by a connected agent. FinOps holds a team's spend in one envelope, with every paid call estimated, reserved against the envelope before it runs, and reconciled with a receipt afterwards. The platform enables agent recommendations subject to deterministic policy controls, ensuring an agent cannot choose to exceed authorized budgets without team approval.

What it is built with

  • Team budget envelope with spend tracking
  • Agent recommendations with policy-based authorization
  • Bounded execution with resource limits
  • Microruntime reconciliation and cleanup
  • Reservation system preventing budget overruns
  • Model and effort recommendations
  • Kubernetes and Terraform support
  • Document and ticket linking
  • RAG over project episodes for context
  • Human-in-the-loop workflow with approval gates

Questions from the bench

What is a microruntime?
A bounded execution environment composed around components you already have, with their configuration, execution and cleanup defined in the console and run by the connected agent on your machine.
Does it copy my code?
No. A component is referenced by its path, and the application stays in your repository with its own build. To build an image, the agent works from a disposable snapshot of your tracked files.
Which stacks are supported?
Any component that has a container image and a build recipe the agent may run. Execution targets a local kind cluster with Terraform and Kubernetes.
What is a team budget?
An authorized amount, for a period, that the whole team's agent-assisted work draws from. Allocations to features are suggestions inside it; no developer or ticket gets an independent right to spend.
Does FinOps mean spending less?
No. It means knowing what was spent, on what, and whether the outcome was worth it. A more capable model can cost less overall when it avoids retries; FinOps measures the result, not the token price.
