What it is
AI Text Cleaner tidies up text pasted from AI chat tools by removing formatting leftovers that cause real problems. When you copy text from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar services, it often carries hidden formatting: invisible characters like zero-width spaces, unusual spaces, typographic quotes, long dashes and Markdown symbols. These small issues break search and replace functions, cause code to fail on curly quotes, and create character count mismatches.
The tool handles all the usual culprits. It removes zero-width spaces, word joiners, byte order marks and soft hyphens. It replaces special spaces with normal spaces, straightens curly quotes back to plain ones, and handles long dashes by replacing them with hyphens, commas or spaces. It strips Markdown formatting, collapses repeated spaces and fixes extra blank lines while preserving your paragraphs.
Everything runs in your browser using JavaScript. Your text is never sent to a server and is not stored anywhere. Close the tab and it is gone. The tool does not rewrite or paraphrase your text, and it cannot make AI text pass AI detectors because detectors judge how text is written, not hidden characters.
