Showing a revenue figure on Maker Launches

Share a month of revenue on your listing. It always carries the self-reported label and the reporting date.

Updated

What you can share

If you want visitors to know what your company makes, you can add one monthly revenue figure in US dollars. The figure can be entered by the owner or by a manager of the listing. The figure is your own number, and the self-reported label says so. You can skip it completely.

Reporting it

Go to /account/revenue after signing in. Enter the revenue, select the month it belongs to, add a proof link if you like, and save.

Accepted figures

Pick a month from the last 24, or the current one. Proof links must be public pages on https. The proof link is for our staff only. Type the amount in US dollars; cents are optional.

On your listing

Each figure carries the month it covers, the date it was reported and the self-reported label. There is one figure per company, so every site the company is listed on shows the same number. The figure appears on your listing and on the revenue leaderboard.

How the board works

The revenue leaderboard at /leaderboards/revenue keeps verified and self-reported figures in separate tables. Votes, the billboard and revenue are separate systems, each labelled.

Edits and removal

To correct it, save a new figure; to take it down, press Remove. Changes are logged in the listing's history, and our team can hide a figure if needed.

Showing verified revenue

A verified figure is one we read from your payment provider or check against your statement. The owner or a manager of the listing sets it up at /account/revenue/verified. There are three routes. Stripe: paste a restricted key that can only read. Paddle: paste an API key with read access only. Anything else (PayPal, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad or another provider): upload the statement for a month that has ended, and our team checks it.

A key is verified straight away when the account matches your listing (the Stripe display name or statement text names your company or website; for Paddle, the approved checkout domain is your website). If it does not match, our team checks it first and you are told the result.

The result is one verified figure per company for the last finished month: the sum of its verified sources, each named with its share, and the date of the last check. It stands in for the self-reported figure on the listing and is ranked in the verified table at /leaderboards/revenue. We show US dollars only, so revenue in another currency is converted at the official ECB average for that month; the listing names the original currency next to the figure.

We refuse a Stripe key that could make changes or read your customers, store keys encrypted, and only ever show the last four characters. The figures are re-read about once a day. Disconnect from /account/revenue/verified whenever you want; the figure comes down with it.
