The making of Zinn Hub: Neil Lock

How it started

Neil Lock co-founded Zinn Hub with Natalie Lock, and he leads it as its CEO. The software behind it is his work: he designed and built the platform. Behind it are more than 25 years of building software, search and hosting.

Why it exists

Zinn Hub exists to make freelancing fairer on both sides of an order. That means sellers who start at 0% commission and keep more of their earnings, and buyers who deal with vetted sellers and a team that answers.

What he built

Every part of it runs in 46 languages. Listings, briefs, messages and reviews translate in both directions, and a live call can be carried by captions or by a spoken translated voice. Money reaches sellers instantly via their own Stripe or PayPal, with six payout methods in all, including crypto. Sellers are vetted and KYC-verified, and payments made on the platform are protected by escrow. Free Zinn® Concierge calls with Neil help buyers scope a project and choose a seller, and a posted project lets sellers pitch for the work.

Milestones

365 Awards made Zinn Hub its UK Freelance Marketplace of the Year 2026, and Best of Best Review named it Best Multilingual Freelance Marketplace in the United Kingdom of 2026.
