What it is

testforreaction.com, as visitors see it

TestForReaction is a free online reaction time test that runs five rounds in your browser. The test records when you click, tap, or press Space after the screen turns green, then shows you your average, median, best, worst, and consistency scores. Results vary by device, display, and input method, so the tool emphasizes comparing your own sessions on the same setup rather than against absolute standards. The site includes a leaderboard for verified scores and tools to share your results with others.

Questions from the bench

What is a good reaction time?
For casual browser testing, the most useful number is a repeatable median across several valid rounds. A good reaction time is one you can reproduce on the same setup, not just one unusually fast click.
What is the average reaction time?
The average reaction time in this tool is the rounded mean of your five valid rounds. It is useful for quick comparison, but the median often gives a steadier view when one round was unusually slow or fast.
Is 200ms reaction time slow?
No. A 200 ms result is generally a strong browser-test score, especially if it repeats across a clean five-round session.
Why is my mobile score different?
A mobile reaction time test can differ from desktop because touchscreens, mice, keyboards, refresh rates, and browser scheduling all add different latency. Compare phone runs with phone runs and desktop runs with desktop runs.
Does this test diagnose anything?
No. This is a simple browser timing tool. It is not a medical, neurological, driving-safety, hiring, or professional-performance assessment.
