What it is
Slop Mop is a browser extension that helps readers identify and reduce low-value writing in their social feeds. As you scroll, it reads posts ahead and uses an AI model to evaluate each one, asking twelve questions about characteristics of the writing: nine about signs of slop, two counter-signals looking for evidence of usefulness or personal voice, and one about likelihood of being human-typed. Reader engagement is also considered. Posts scoring above your chosen threshold fold into a compact strip you can reopen with one click.
You stay in control throughout. You can inspect Slop Mop's reasoning, vote to override any judgment, adjust sensitivity from Mild to Aggressive, and switch between Hide (folding posts) and Highlight (keeping them visible but tinted) modes. Nothing is deleted or blocked permanently, and no author is ever reported.
Currently available for free on LinkedIn in Chrome and Chromium browsers (Brave, Comet, Opera and others), with Microsoft Edge, Safari and Firefox coming soon. X, Reddit, Facebook, Substack, Medium, Gmail, Outlook and general websites are planned. The free plan includes 250 checks per day. A paid plan called Slop Mop XL is coming soon.

- Slop Mop is a browser extension, free for one feed, that reads posts in your feed before you reach them, judges the writing, and folds away what reads like slop. Nothing is deleted: a folded post reopens with one click, and every verdict shows the signs behind it. Today it works on LinkedIn in desktop Chrome and Chromium browsers such as Comet, Brave and Opera. Microsoft Edge, Safari and Firefox are coming soon. - Is Slop Mop an AI detector?
- No. Slop Mop is a bad-writing detector. AI-assisted writing can be excellent and human writing can be spectacular slop, so it asks a more useful question: is this worth your attention?
- How does it decide whether a post is slop?
- An AI model designed for calibrated decisions answers twelve questions about each post in parallel: nine tells of slop, two counter-signals (does it sound like a person, is it useful to readers) and how likely it is to be human-typed. Reader response, counted from reactions, comments and reposts, is the third counter-signal. The answers become one score out of 100. Counter-signals can only lower it.
- What happens when it gets one wrong?
- Click the mop beside the post and vote: No, Maybe or Probably, or Not sure to clear your vote. Your vote overrides the score in your feed straight away, with or without an account. When your vote disagrees with Slop Mop's verdict, the post's text is saved and a person at Artimovo reviews it; the posts it got wrong become training examples for tuning the tells and the score.
