Questions from the bench

What if the SSH command prompts for a password?
If the SSH command prompts for a password, you can press enter for a blank password or type something random and press enter. For long-running tunnels with auto-reconnect, generate an SSH key using ssh-keygen.
Why does the URL change after restarting the tunnel?
Pinggy's free plan has a tunnel timeout of 60 minutes. When the tunnel is closed or reaches the time limit, a new tunnel generates a new URL. To get a permanent URL, you must subscribe to Pinggy Pro.
Does Pinggy work on all platforms?
Yes, Pinggy works on Linux, Windows, Mac, and Android. Current versions of these systems come with OpenSSH client pre-installed, so Pinggy works out of the box.
Can Pinggy read my tunnel data?
Pinggy reads tunnel traffic to provide the Web Debugger feature. For zero-trust scenarios where Pinggy cannot read data, use TLS tunnels with end-to-end encryption.
Where are Pinggy servers located?
Pinggy servers are located in USA, Europe, UK, Singapore, Brazil, and Australia. The free.pinggy.io domain is routed to the server nearest to your location.
