A hosted PDF API with sub-100ms response times, accessible via HTTP, MCP server for AI agents, n8n node, and Python client. Fill form fields, merge PDFs

What it is

Screenshot of the PDFops homepage
pdfops.dev, as visitors see it

PDFops is a hosted PDF API designed for edge runtimes with sub-100ms response times globally. It provides deterministic PDF work: fill AcroForm fields, merge documents, list form fields, and generate invoices from JSON, with the same input producing byte-identical output every time. The platform integrates as an MCP server for AI agents (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor), offers a verified n8n community node for no-code workflows, and provides a Python client via PyPI. Six endpoints handle form filling, merging, inspection, invoice generation, key signup, and quota checking. A browser-based UI offers a free invoice generator, field inspector, and make-fillable editor, with email support for filling PDFs without code.

Questions from the bench

How much does PDFops cost?
PDFops offers a free anonymous trial of 100 requests per IP per month with no signup. The Free plan provides 250 requests per month with an API key. Paid tiers start at $16/month for the Indie plan (4,000 requests/month) and $79/month for the Pro plan (25,000 requests/month). Enterprise plans with custom quotas and SLA are available upon request.
What happens if I exceed my quota?
Every quota is a hard cap. When you request more than your tier allows, you receive an HTTP 429 response and the request does not count against your quota. The counter resets on the 1st of each month. You can upgrade to a higher tier or email hello@pdfops.dev to request a mid-month raise.
What formats and endpoints does PDFops support?
PDFops provides six endpoints: POST /api/fill-form to fill PDF form fields, POST /api/merge to merge multiple PDFs, POST /api/inspect to list a PDF's form fields, POST /api/invoice to generate complete invoice PDFs from JSON, POST /api/signup for self-serve API key generation, and GET /api/usage to check quota.
How do I access PDFops from my preferred language or framework?
PDFops supports multiple integration paths: an MCP server for AI agents like Claude Code and Cursor, a verified n8n community node for no-code workflows, a Python client via pip install pdfops, and plain HTTP from any language. Per-language guides are available for Python, Node.js, and JavaScript.
Do I need a credit card to start using PDFops?
No. You can start with a free 100 requests per month anonymous trial with no signup at all. When you need more, you can request a free API key via email to get 250 requests per month without providing a credit card. Paid tiers require payment via Stripe.
