PDFCommunity is an independent project from Belgium offering free PDF tools that process files entirely in your browser. Every tool—including merging, compressing, converting to Word or PowerPoint, splitting, watermarking, and more—runs locally on your device without uploading files to a server or requiring an account.

The service is designed around privacy: your files never reach their servers, you can verify this yourself in your browser, and there are no artificial file size limits or daily usage caps. Processing starts instantly when you select a file, and results download directly to your device.

PDFCommunity stays free through ads that never appear over your files or during your work. The platform supports eight languages and most tools continue working offline after the page loads. Conversions to Word, PowerPoint, or Excel happen automatically without text recognition, and complex layouts may differ slightly from the original.

Questions from the bench

Do you see my files?
No. There is no upload, so nothing reaches their servers. All processing happens with JavaScript in your own browser on your own device.
Do I have to pay if I use this a lot?
No. All tools are free without an account or daily limit. Ads cover the costs long-term, never appearing next to or over your files, and there are no subscriptions or paywalls.
Does this work on my phone too?
Yes, the tool works in any modern browser. Very large files can run out of memory on a phone, especially an older one; a laptop or desktop handles them better.
Does it work without internet?
Once a tool page has loaded, most tools keep working offline. Only a watermark with special characters or non-Latin script, and some PDFs with Asian text, need internet.
Is there a file size limit?
No artificial limit on our end. The practical limit depends on your own device's memory — on a regular laptop or phone, documents with hundreds of pages usually work without a problem. If a file is very large for your device, the tool warns you before you start. Guideline: up to 50 MB works well on most devices; for larger files a computer is more reliable than a phone.
