A free, open source document scanner that runs in your web browser. Photograph a document, and it finds edges, straightens perspective, cleans lighting, reads

OpenDocScan is a free document scanner that works entirely in your web browser. It uses your device's camera to photograph documents, then automatically finds page edges, straightens perspective, cleans lighting, and performs optical character recognition to create searchable, multi-page PDFs.
All processing happens locally on your device using code written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly. No documents are uploaded to servers, no account is required, and the resulting PDFs have no watermarks or page limits. The text recognition currently supports English and writes an invisible searchable layer behind the page image.
The scanner works offline after the initial page load and can be added to your home screen to function like a native mobile app. The entire source code is open source under MIT or Apache-2.0 licenses. Native apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android are in development using the same scanning core.
