What it is

makerkit.dev, as visitors see it

MakerKit is a production-ready Next.js SaaS starter kit that provides the foundational components every SaaS application needs: secure multi-tenancy, authentication with email, OAuth, and MFA, subscription billing with Stripe support, team accounts with roles and permissions, and a super admin dashboard.

The kit ships as source code you own, available for Next.js, TanStack Start, or React Router with three data stack options: Supabase, Drizzle ORM with Better Auth, or Prisma 7 with Better Auth. It includes an MCP server and agent rules files (AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md) to enable AI coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Gemini to work within the codebase conventions.

Every license includes lifetime updates, unlimited projects, marketing pages with blog and documentation, E2E testing with Playwright, a Figma UI kit, and access to a Discord community with direct support from the creator. The kit is available as a one-time purchase: $349 for Pro (one developer) or $649 for Teams (up to five collaborators), with no subscription fees.

Questions from the bench

Is MakerKit a Next.js SaaS template or a boilerplate?
MakerKit is a boilerplate, also called a Next.js starter kit. Unlike templates that stop at screens, MakerKit ships the backend: authentication wired to Postgres, billing wired to a payment provider, and the account model connecting them. It is a multi-tenant SaaS boilerplate you own and extend.
Which technology stacks does MakerKit support?
MakerKit supports three data stacks on the same architecture: Supabase with Supabase Auth, Postgres, Storage, and Row Level Security; Drizzle ORM with Better Auth; or Prisma 7 with Better Auth on any Postgres. All use Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS 4, and Shadcn UI. A license covers one data stack and includes the TanStack Start version of that stack plus React Router 8 on the Supabase stack.
Is MakerKit a subscription service?
No. MakerKit uses a one-time payment model. You pay once and keep access to the private repository and every future update. There is no monthly or yearly fee.
What is the difference between Pro and Teams licenses?
The code is the same in both licenses. Pro ($349) gives repository access to one developer with unlimited projects and lifetime updates. Teams ($649) gives access to up to five collaborators, a private Discord channel, and the same features. Contact them for more than five seats.
