What it is

Livp is a set of five browser-based conversion tools for working with iPhone Live Photos. You can turn an MP4 or MOV video into a Live Photo by writing the pairing metadata that iOS checks—a shared content identifier and a still-image-time track—without re-encoding the video. You can also convert Live Photos to regular video files, JPEG images, or GIF animations. All processing happens locally in your browser; files never leave your device and nothing is uploaded to a server. The free tier supports conversions up to 1080p with ads, while membership adds 4K output, removes ads, and enables batch conversion.

Is it really free?

Yes. Local conversions are unlimited and do not require an account. The free tier caps outputs at 1080p and shows ads; membership raises output to 4K, removes ads, and adds batch conversion.

How is this different from a GIF or wallpaper app?

Those produce something that looks like a moving photo. Livp writes the metadata iOS actually checks—a shared content identifier and a still-image-time track—so Photos treats the result as a genuine Live Photo with a LIVE badge.

Do I need an iPhone to use it?

No. You can build a Live Photo on any computer and send it to a phone afterwards. You only need an iPhone or an iPad to view it as a Live Photo.

What happens to my files?

They stay in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and closing the tab discards everything.
