What it is

limato.app, as visitors see it

Limato is a Chrome extension built for non-native speakers who write in English or any of 34 other languages daily. You highlight text anywhere you write—Gmail, LinkedIn, Slack, Notion, or any website—and press a hotkey to get a native-sounding rewrite instantly.

The extension offers seven rewrite tones: Native, Humanize, Formal, Casual, Simplify, Academic, and Grammar-only. The Native tone is an aggressive rewrite that strips non-native filler patterns and is typically 30–50% shorter, making text read like a fluent native wrote it. Unlike grammar checkers, Limato focuses on phrasing and idiom, not just commas and punctuation.

You can also translate while rewriting, and explain unfamiliar words directly in your reading context. The rewrite happens inline with one click to replace the original or copy to clipboard.
