What is a form backend?

A form backend is a hosted service that receives HTML form submissions without requiring server code. You set your form's action to an endpoint URL, and the service stores submissions, filters spam, emails you and forwards data to integrations.

Do I need to write any server code to use FormSubmit?

No. You set your form's action to your FormSubmit endpoint and method to POST. It works with plain HTML, any JavaScript framework, WordPress, Webflow, Framer and AI-built sites.

How does FormSubmit stop spam?

Every plan includes honeypot fields, time-to-submit checks, content heuristics, rate limiting and optional captchas. Spam goes to a separate folder and does not count toward your quota.

FormSubmit is a headless form backend designed for modern websites that no longer have their own servers. It receives form submissions from HTML, WordPress, React, Next.js and other static sites, storing them and routing them to email, webhooks, Slack, Discord, Google Sheets and other integrations.

The service handles the infrastructure that forms require: email delivery, spam filtering with honeypots and heuristics, file upload storage, retries when integrations are down, and flexible data retention controls. It works with plain HTML, any JavaScript framework, site builders like Webflow and Framer, and AI-generated sites.

Every plan includes spam protection, webhooks and all integrations. Users point their form's action attribute to a FormSubmit endpoint and submissions are received automatically without server code, database setup or email provider configuration needed.

Forms are set up in about a minute by creating an account, generating an endpoint URL, and pointing the form's action to that endpoint.
