EarDub is a Chrome and Edge extension that translates and dubs videos from YouTube, Udemy, Coursera, X, Bilibili and Gumroad into your chosen language. It reads a video's captions or recognizes the speech when there are none, translates them into complete sentences, and plays a natural AI voice synchronized with the picture. The extension supports 75 languages with 300+ voices and regional accents. Rather than making you read subtitles, EarDub lets you listen while watching, with bilingual subtitles available if needed. Questions from the bench

What is EarDub and how does YouTube dubbing work?
EarDub is a YouTube dubbing extension for Chrome and Edge that translates a video's captions with AI (or, on paid plans, recognizes the speech when there are none) and plays a natural AI voice in sync with the video. It dubs into 75 languages with 300+ voices on YouTube and other video sites.
Is EarDub's YouTube dubbing free?
Yes. The free plan dubs 30 minutes a day (180 a month), up to 3 videos of up to 60 minutes each, for videos with captions. Basic ($9.99/month or $83/year) gives 60 hours a month and dubs videos without captions. Pro ($19.99/month or $155/year) has no time limit.
Can EarDub dub a video without captions?
Yes, on the paid plans: EarDub recognizes the speech in the video's audio and dubs it. This works wherever EarDub can read the sound, except copy-protected video such as Netflix and live streams.
What's the difference between EarDub and YouTube's auto-dubbing?
YouTube's auto-dubbing appears only on videos whose creators turned it on, in a few languages, with a voice you can't change. EarDub works on almost any YouTube video, in 75 languages with 300+ voices, and only when you turn it on.
Does EarDub work on Udemy and Coursera?
Yes. EarDub dubs Udemy and Coursera lectures in the same 75 languages as YouTube. On Coursera the lecture needs captions; on Udemy, lectures without captions are dubbed too on the Basic and Pro plans.
