What it is

Screenshot of the CloudCLI homepage
cloudcli.ai, as visitors see it

CloudCLI is a cloud development environment for AI coding agents including Claude Code, Cursor CLI, Codex, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode. Sessions persist in isolated containers and keep running even when you close your laptop, allowing you to start work on your phone and continue in VS Code over SSH from any device.

The platform supports cross-device access, team collaboration with shared environments and MCP servers, and integrations with n8n, Linear, and Jira. You can trigger sessions from your phone, browser, API, or automation tools. All your code stays in encrypted environments, with SSH access for connecting desktop IDEs.

CloudCLI is built on open source foundations (AGPL-3 licensed with 13k GitHub stars), so you can self-host on your own infrastructure or use the managed cloud version starting at €7/month.

Questions from the bench

What happens when I close my laptop?
Your environment keeps running in the cloud. Terminal sessions, running processes and file changes persist. You can close your laptop and pick up the exact same session from your phone or another computer, even trigger background agents from your phone and return to finished code.
Do I need my own AI subscription?
Yes. CloudCLI provides the cloud environment and tools, not the AI itself. You bring your own API key or subscription for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Gemini. Your keys are stored encrypted and never shared.
Can I self-host CloudCLI instead of using the cloud version?
Yes. CloudCLI is fully open source under AGPL-3 with 13k GitHub stars. You can run it locally, deploy on your own VPS or set it up on your team's infrastructure. The hosted version adds managed cloud environments and team features on top of the same open source core.
Can my team share environments and configurations?
Yes. Teams can share MCP servers, context files, environment variables and tool configurations across projects. Each developer gets their own isolated container but everyone starts from the same setup, eliminating the 'works on my machine' problem.
How is CloudCLI different from Claude Code on the web?
Claude Code on the web runs sessions on Anthropic's managed cloud infrastructure and only supports Claude Code. Each session starts fresh without access to your local toolchains or custom setup. CloudCLI gives you your own persistent environment where you can run Claude Code alongside Cursor CLI, Codex, and Gemini CLI in the same workspace. You get SSH access to connect from VS Code or any desktop IDE, a full file explorer and Git UI, and the ability to install your own dependencies, databases, and tools. Your environment persists between sessions so you never start from scratch.
