What it is

ac-bridge.com, as visitors see it

AC Bridge connects your Claude Code and Codex sessions to smart lights and plugs on your local network, turning them into visual status indicators. Instead of monitoring a terminal, you see at a glance when your agent is working, needs permission, or has finished.

Assign each repository or session its own light or colour, and map agent states to visual effects. The system supports 29 agent states for Claude Code and 19 for Codex, with effects like pulsing, flashing, and fading. Your devices return to their previous state when the session ends.

AC Bridge works with 16 smart home brands directly on your LAN, including Philips Hue, Govee, LIFX, and Nanoleaf, plus any devices in your Home Assistant setup. Agents can also control devices as part of their tasks, with pre-approved permissions.

What it is built with

  • 29 agent states mappable to custom scenes and effects
  • 9 dynamic lighting effects including pulse, flash, strobe and candle
  • 16 smart home brands supported directly on LAN
  • Device control from agent tasks with pre-approved permissions
  • Automatic device state restoration on session end
  • 49 device commands including power, brightness, colour and scenes
  • Local network operation with no cloud round trip required

Questions from the bench

What do I need to use AC Bridge?
You need Claude Code or Codex already installed on your machine, smart lights or plugs from one of 16 supported brands or Home Assistant, and a computer running Windows 10+, macOS, or Linux.
How does AC Bridge restore device states?
AC Bridge takes a snapshot of each device when it first touches it. When your session ends or you press Stop, the lights and plugs it changed return as close as possible to their original state as each device allows.
Can multiple agent sessions control the same light?
Yes, there is no limit to the number of sessions per light. By default the most recent session shows on the light. Lights, plugs, LED strips and appliances all count.
What happens to my data with AC Bridge?
Your account, settings, device list, usage counts and session states sync through the servers. However, your prompts, code and session transcripts are never collected. Local device keys never leave your machine.
What agent states can I map to lights?
Claude Code can trigger all 29 agent states including working, needs permission, needs input, plan ready, context low and finished. Codex supports 19 of these states.
